Main Purpose of Job: To ensure the cleanliness of bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to the standard set by the department.
Main Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the cleaning of allocated bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas including corridors and cubbies.
- To operate any machinery correctly ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
- To be responsible for the daily stocking of all trolleys and caddies.
- To use all cleaning chemicals as directed.
- Where necessary to wear personal protective equipment when cleaning e.g. rubber gloves, masks, eye goggles.
- To adhere to all recycling procedures within the department and the hotel when disposing of all waste.
- Any lost property found is to be returned to the accommodation department.
- To maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both hotel guests and your colleagues.
- To report maintenance issues that arise on a daily basis.
- To be responsible for the routine cleaning of designated areas such as changing rooms and staff canteens when required.
Customer Service:
- Provide efficient and friendly service to guests.
- Adhere to the Mespil Hotel key standards.
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
- Maintain a positive attitude with guests and colleagues.
Health and Safety:
- Comply with hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Report any hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices.
Presentation and Grooming:
- Wear the correct uniform and name badge.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
Other Duties:
- Attend relevant training courses.
- Serve on hotel committees as required.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Assist in other departments as necessary.
- Contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
Working Conditions:
- This role requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- The position involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting and carrying items.
