We are currently seeking a Caring and Enthusiastic individual to join our team as an After School Educator at The Early Years Academy. The Early Years Academy is the newest service from Kim McCarthy who founded Simbas Childcare which has over 25 years delivering high quality childcare in the Blackrock area. What you need:
(Candidates who do not meet the requirements listed will not be considered):
- Candidates must hold a minimum of Fetac Level 5 (or recognised equivalent) in a childcare qualification.
- Candidates must have at least 1 year experience in a childcare role.
- Candidates must provide 2 x written references and copy of qualification certificates at time of interview.
- Candidate details will be submitted for Garda Vetting.
- Candidates who have lived outside of the jurisdiction for 6 months or more must provide international police vetting.
Duties & Responsibilities :
(Duties will be discussed in full at time of interview. A brief outline is below):
- To support and assist in the provision of after school care of the highest quality, in a holistic setting.
- Plan activities and engaging opportunities for the children to learn through play.
- Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children in your care.
- Walk the children from school to the service during school periods - current collection is from Kill of the Grange school which is opposite the premises.
- Work with parents as partners regarding the development and welfare of their child.
- Conduct observations & learning stories for assigned child/children.
- Attend meetings and undergo training as required.
- Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
