Job Description

We are seeking an Analytics Translator to join AXA Ireland’s Data & AI team. This pivotal role serves as the essential link between business stakeholders and data experts, ensuring that data-driven insights lead to tangible business results.

The successful candidate will focus on identifying business challenges, formulating data-driven solutions, and fostering collaboration among data scientists, engineers, and business teams. This collaboration is crucial for the effective delivery of data products that align with our strategic objectives.

In this role, you will contribute to AXA Ireland’s vision of harnessing Data as a Superpower as part of our Amplify strategy, ensuring that data insights are communicated clearly, are actionable, and support our overarching business goals.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities where data and analytics can enhance customer value and boost business performance.
  • Ensure that insights from data products are easily understandable and lead to customer-focused improvements.
  • Advocate for data-informed decision-making across AXA, inspiring teams to embrace data utilization.
  • Foster a collaborative "One AXA" mindset by bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Guide less experienced team members and promote best practices in data storytelling and insight delivery.
  • Work with business leaders to define and prioritise analytics use cases that align with AXA Ireland's strategic goals.
  • Translate business challenges into actionable data requirements, ensuring effective communication between data teams and business stakeholders.

  • 5+ years of experience in a data-driven business environment, preferably within financial services or insurance.
  • A degree in Business Management or a related field: such as Information Systems. Certifications or formal training in Change Management, Training Design, Organisational Development, or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R for a deeper understanding of data processes.
  • Basic understanding of agile methodologies and sprint-based project delivery, along with knowledge of data platforms (such as Azure Data Lake and Power BI), data governance practices, and data privacy regulations (including GDPR).
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business challenges into effective data-driven solutions, with a strong grasp of data analytics concepts such as predictive modelling and data visualisation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to drive successful outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for non-technical audiences and effectively present findings using data visualisation tools like Power BI.
  • Strong business acumen, enabling the identification of high-impact use cases and the ability to align data insights with business objectives.

This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements. You can find more information on axa.ie/careers.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.

This recruitment campaign will be used to support permanent, temporary and/or extension for any upcoming similar positions.
