School of Fine Art – Department of Print

The Print Department offers both studio space and significant workshop capacity that supports an expanding range of approaches and outputs. The Department is a popular undergraduate choice for undergraduate study,

Spanning autographic arts, mechanical reproduction and digital media, print actively interlocks with a broad range of disciplines whilst evolving distinctive approaches to art making . Teaching embraces fundamental and contemporary approaches to image making and reproduction, whilst expanding further frameworks and sites for making and dissemination. Teaching supports the wider remit of art practice of embracing both open ended and dynamic exploration in relation to teacher generated projects and learner generated briefs, with an awareness of contemporary forces and themes that are manifest and evolving. This may embrace known and alternative means including still and moving image, performance, digitally commanded manifestations, public sites, collaborative and co- produced components for example. The re-animation of Postgraduate Study related to the area is a live matter.
