Reporting to the Reader Services Manager, the position is a student-facing teaching and instructional role based in the DBS Library and Academic Hub. The post holder will be a key part of a team that delivers Reference & Circulation Services and lead on engagement activities and social media presence. The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with strong visual design and copywriting skills, a finger on the pulse of trends, and responsive to faculty and student needs.

Job Description
- Provide excellent Reference services both on-campus and remotely
- Provide Circulation services including managing library accounts, processing payments, shelving, stocktaking, etc.
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with their queries
- Contribute to the development of the Library outreach plan
- Manage the Library’s social media and maintain content on the Library’s website relating to social media
- Engaging with current patrons, attracting new library users, and creating, organizing, and managing events to enhance DBS community involvement
- Collaborating with the Information Literacy team to create regular content for promoting library services
- Liaise with internal departments and student union to promote library services
- Complete any other tasks as requested by the Library Leadership Team
Requirements
- Master's degree in Library/Information Science from an LAI-accredited program, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work evening shifts and weekend hours as required
- Aesthetic sense, editing skills and social media knowledge
Desirable
- Previous experience working in Reader Services
- Strong IT skills to support student success in a hybrid learning environment
- An innovative and strategic thinker with a focus on maximizing student outcomes
- A team player who is also able to work independently and adapt to a changing environment
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in Reader Services affecting libraries and higher education
