Title of Post: Assistant Professor in Psychology
JOB SYNOPSIS
If you are seeking an academic career in an inspiring and cohesive Psychology Department that delivers excellent research, teaching, and societal impact, then the new Assistant Professor position (contract type: permanent) in our Department should be of interest to you. The Department’s research profile is characterised by its expertise in the domains of social, health, clinical, and community psychology. Our research leadership is strongly reflected in the track record of successfully securing national and international funding, for example, four European Research Council (ERC) grants in the past five years. These successes are accompanied by the Department’s competitive publication and citation records, indicating that the Department is a national and international leader with enormous potential for research leadership in Europe and beyond. The Department has over 600 students. It delivers various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and supervises approximately 40 PhD students. The Department is a leader in internationalisation, reflected in the high rate of international staff members and the number of international students. Applicants should have experience conducting high-quality research, as demonstrated by published articles in international ISI-ranked journals of great repute and a good pipeline of studies for publication. Evidence of high-impact publications and awareness of the potential impact of the publications beyond academia is expected. The successful candidate is expected to: teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on accredited psychology programmes; have experience in teaching research methods and clinical psychology or community psychology; supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research; undertake administrative tasks associated with an academic position; undertake excellent research.
