Job Purpose.
The Assistant Service Manager will support the Senior Service Manager who is responsible for the provision of a quality alternative day respite service between our Balbriggan and Jamestown centres.
As a key member of the senior team, the Assistant Service Manager will demonstrate managerial and leadership skills, working collaboratively with Senior Service Manager, Team Leads , Direct Support Workers and Allied Health Professionals. This role involves communication and collaboration with families to ensure efficient and effective care of their children . The Assistant Service Manager will work alongside the Senior Service Manager to oversee the management of resources including staffing and staff development.
The position requires a strategic approach to the development of services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the management of change necessary to achieve organisational objectives.
Essential Criteria
- Hold a third level (level 8) qualification in social care, nursing or other relevant healthcare degree.
- Have experience in managing staff teams.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the development and delivery of a comprehensive service, meeting a full range of key targets and making significant improvements
- Experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders internal and external to achieve successful outcomes
- A proactive hands on 'can do' attitude
- Demonstrable capability in change management
- Previous experience in a respite environment is highly desirable for this role
This role comes with a competitive salary that will be based on experience. The position is a Job Sharing position with a specific purpose contract for 6 months .The successful candidate will be employed 16 hours per week. Week 1 the rostered work hours will be Thursday and Friday, for week 2 the working week will be Monday & Tuesday. The position will involve travel between our Balbriggan and Finglas centres.
