We are seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead our Galway dealership, ensuring its success across all departments.
Role Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the Galway dealership. This includes managing sales, aftersales/service, administration, finance, and compliance. The GM will drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency while providing strong leadership to all staff.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, and manage department heads.
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff across all areas of the dealership.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Business Performance & Strategy
- Deliver on sales, service, and profit targets set by senior management.
- Monitor KPIs across all departments and take corrective action where needed.
- Develop and implement business growth strategies specific to the Galway market.
- Manage budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
Customer Experience
- Ensure the dealership provides an exceptional customer journey from enquiry to aftersales.
- Handle escalated customer issues professionally and promptly.
- Promote repeat business and referrals through excellent service and trust.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee stock management (purchasing, pricing, turnover).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain showroom and service facilities to the highest standards.
- Liaise closely with the Limerick head office to align operations and strategy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the automotive industry (Dealer Principal, General Manager, or similar).
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive both sales growth and operational efficiency.
- Full clean driving licence.
