About the role:
The Calibration Technician will assist in the calibration, testing and repair of a variety of standard instrumentation and specialist equipment, to meet the relevant industry practices and regulations, as directed by the Calibration Lead.
The role will cover the performance of calibration duties for the entire Takeda Ireland Limited (Bray) facility.
How will you contribute:
- Perform calibration activities on various instruments including temperature, humidity, pressure, weight, flow, speed, conductivity, pH, and viscosity devices in compliance with cGMP and internal procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve instrumentation faults identified during calibration processes.
- Report calibration non-conformances immediately in a traceable manner and initiate deviation reports when required.
- Accurately document calibration results in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) following ALCOA+ principles.
- Monitor and ensure calibration reference standards are within date and properly labeled; notify the Calibration Lead of upcoming expirations.
- Maintain compliance with site-specific training requirements.
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and aligned with 5S principles.
- Follow all EHS risk assessments for elevated-risk calibration tasks and report accidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in on-site routine safety inspections and Gemba walks related to calibration activities.
- Adhere to HR policies, including timely absence reporting.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Calibration Lead within the scope of the role.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Time-served Electrical & Instrumentation apprenticeship, or relevant technical qualification such as:
- ONC/HNC in Electronics / Instrumentation / Control Systems
- City & Guilds FTC in Electronics or Control & Instrumentation
- Or an equivalent qualification
- Proven experience performing calibrations in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment, preferably with exposure to Clean Rooms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with measurement and instrumentation devices.
- Experience with CMMS tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo, ProCal) for logging calibration data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
