Night Shift Cleaner Shunter
We are looking to recruit a Night Shift Cleaner Shunter at our Ballymount Depot to join our busy Facilities team. The Cleaner Shunter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the bus and vehicle fleet and depot facilities, as well as maneuvering buses within the depot safely and efficiently. This role ensures that buses are cleaned, fueled, and ready for service, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the depot.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks: (Shifts)
- Perform thorough cleaning of the bus fleet, including interior and exterior, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Empty waste bins, clean seating areas, floors, windows, and other surfaces within the buses.
- Replenish supplies such as hand sanitizer, soap, and tissue in the buses.
- Maintain cleanliness of depot facilities, including offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Safely maneuver and park buses within the depot, ensuring correct positioning for fueling, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Conduct pre-shift checks of buses for any obvious defects or cleanliness issues.
- Assist with the movement of buses in and out of the washing bay, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Refuel buses as needed and check fluid levels (oil, coolant, etc.).
- Report any damage or mechanical issues observed during cleaning or shunting to the maintenance team.
- Assist the maintenance team with basic tasks as required, such as topping up fluids and checking tire pressures.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
Essential:
- Valid Driving Licence
- Flexibility in shift work
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and understand basic vehicle operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
- Physically demanding role requiring standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Working in varying weather conditions
Desirable:
- Knowledge of bus industry.
- 1-year previous experience in similar role.
