The purpose of the Cloud Infrastructure Tech Lead is to help with defining the Cloud Infrastructure strategy – adopting DevOps best practices and a Cloud First strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and collaborating directly with senior leadership.
This is a highly technical role requiring a broad skill set, including technical leadership and direction, and a strong aptitude to understand business processes and systems. The role will fully support ADS, streamlining releases to Production and Cloud migration efforts for EI Tech.

Your role
- Technical Leadership: As a Tech Lead, you should guide the team in technical decisions, ensuring that the solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the company's technical standards.

- Conflict Resolution: As a Senior Tech Lead, you should be adept at resolving conflicts within the team. This helps in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Performance Metrics: Regularly track and measure the team's performance using relevant metrics. This helps in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its goals.
- Team Balance: Understand the strengths and weaknesses of your team members and create a balanced team that can work effectively together.
- Responsible for infrastructure as code (IAC) design, best practices, development, monitoring and alerting, continuous integration and automated deployments.
- Collaborate with the software development team to design cloud native scalable solutions from proof of concept to production. Impart DevOps knowledge and technical skills into the development team to broaden team capabilities.
- Engage with the Cloud Infrastructure Architects and contribute to on-going review of the AWS environments to continuously improve performance and manage costs making a stable and flexible infrastructure delivering business requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison for cloud strategy across multiple departments (Security, Compliance, Business Units).
- Have a passion for learning new technologies and be a strong supporter of best DevOps and Cloud First practices.
- Review new industry and Cloud developments to explore advantages which might be leveraged by Aer Lingus.
Your qualifications and key criteria
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
- Leading design build and release processes for multiple environments to an integration layer for both test and production in AWS and on-prem servers.
- Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code processes and technologies.
- Deep understanding of Cloud Technologies, AWS.
- Advanced Experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer, Jenkins and Ansible a strong advantage.
- Advanced Experience with Atlantis, Terraform quality tools, build pipeline etc. desirable.
- Expertise in area of monitoring tools to find problems, issue resolution/troubleshooting, and/or issue escalation.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Strong Release Management and Configuration tools experience
- Understanding and experience with Agile and PCD methodologies.
- Expert level knowledge of AWS services such as WAF, CloudFront, API Gateway, EC2 etc.
- Advanced experience with Red Hat and Amazon Linux.
- Have continuous delivery experience on large projects
- Ability to lead large improvement initiatives and projects.
- Demonstrate strategic and tactical capability to have an impact on challenging teams balancing short-term results with a sustained push towards turnaround of medium to long-term team performance.
- Proven ability to systematically analyse and apply technical problems to generate new ideas and innovative solutions.
- Focused attitude to work, with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring excellent attention to detail & high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include proven report writing & presentation skills.
- First class organisational skills and a willingness to apply direct effort to delve into detail.
- Team player willing to work across functional and non-functional teams and help teams to achieve goals.
- Confident self-starter who is assertive and focused.
- Outstanding relationship builder with sound emotional intelligence and ability to work closely with non-financial management.

- Be in possession or be able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check.
