About this Role
- We are seeking a hands-on Cybersecurity Lead to secure Deciphex's internal technology infrastructure and operations.
- You'll protect our employees and business systems while enabling secure operations and growth across the UK, Europe, and North America.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Infrastructure Security
- Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise security tools: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
- Hands-on management of Google Workspace security (Advanced Protection, Security Center, DLP policies, device management, access controls)
- Maintain AWS and other cloud services security, including IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, for internal infrastructure, VMs, and business systems.
- Secure any IT system whether cloud-enabled or on-premises across the organization.
Employee & Endpoint Security
- Secure employee devices, remote access, and enforce security policies across our UK, European, and North American workforce.
- Implement and maintain endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions for all company devices.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions for all internal systems.
Security Operations & Automation
- Develop security automation scripts and tools to streamline operations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Lead incident response, conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Partner with IT teams on secure deployment of business applications and tools.
Physical Security Support
- Support the IS team with security initiatives for office locations and laboratory facilities including network infrastructure and data storage.
- Assist with secure network architectures for hybrid environments and inter-site connectivity across regions.
Product Security Support
- Collaborate with product teams on customer-facing security initiatives for our Patholytix, Diagnexia and Analytix platforms.
- Support security architecture reviews, compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001), and customer security questionnaires.
Skills and Experience
Required
- 5+ years hands-on corporate cybersecurity experience.
- Experience will be in fast-growing tech companies or regulated industries.
- Strong expertise in Google Workspace security (Advanced Protection, Security Center, DLP policies, device management, access controls).
- Technical proficiency:
- SIEM platforms
- Endpoint security
- Network security
- IAM
- SSO implementation
- Security automation and scripting
- System hardening (Windows/Linux)
- Experience with AWS and other cloud services security.
- Experience securing remote workforces across cloud and on-premises systems.
Preferred
- Security certifications (CISSP, OSCP, AWS Security Specialty).
- Knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) and corporate compliance requirements.
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry security experience.
- Microsoft SharePoint security experience.
- Experience securing offices and laboratory environments.
