Dental Care Ireland, have an excellent opportunity for a Dental Nurse to join our Westport Practice in County Mayo.
- This is a permanent part-time role, 24 hours per week (Flexibility on days available).
- 1-2 year's of Dental Nursing experience essential.
- Dental Nurse qualification is an added advantage.

Reporting to: Practice Manager
Summary of Role
The Dental Nurse is responsible for providing excellence in service through the efficient management of patients through the practice. The Dental Nurse will work in close partnership with the Dental Team, take instruction from the Dentist and Practice Manager, and have the ability to take ownership and responsibility for clinical policies and procedures in the practice; as set out by Dental Care Ireland and other regulatory bodies, including the Dental Council of Ireland.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Dentist, providing chair side assistance to ensure the professional, accurate and timely completion of treatments and relevant records as required for patient care.
- Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate, according to the practice’s health and safety policy, manufacturers’ instructions and the Code of Practice relating to infection control as set out by the Dental Council of Ireland.
- Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained for the smooth running of the practice, and inform appointed staff member when stock levels diminish.
- Liaise with Reception Team to ensure smooth patient communication and transfer of records.
- Work with the Practice Manager to assist in training new members of the clinical support team as and when required.
- Working with the Practice Manager in handling and resolving patient complaints, if they arise in line with company guidelines.
- Assisting with reception duties where required.
Essential
- 1-2 year's Dental Nursing experience.
- Authorised to work in Ireland.
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
- Fluent in written and oral English.
- Must have working knowledge in use of Microsoft Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and mail.
- Dental Nurse qualification is an added advantage.
