We’re currently looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in a setting that truly supports and values its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Manager in the daily running of the setting.
- Step in as Acting Manager when needed
- Act as the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child safeguarding (training provided if needed)
- Lead, mentor, and support staff to maintain high standards in early years care and education
- Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and internal policies
- Coordinate staff rotas and maintain staff-child ratios in conjunction with manager
- Oversee staff development, including appraisals and training plans
- Maintain strong communication with families and external agencies
- Use ChildPath to manage attendance, reports, and documentation
- Provide hands-on support in rooms as needed
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Early Years Education (or higher)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a childcare or early years setting
- Proven leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of the Aistear curriculum and child protection procedures
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
- Willingness to complete DLP training
- Work with Better Start preferable , but not essential
- Immediate availability preferred
