Role description:
Due to recent project wins, our growing Rail team in Ireland is seeking a Senior Design Manager to work with project managers and multi-disciplinary technical staff in execution of major rail projects. This role will get opportunities to work on projects with government agencies as well as major design-build contracts. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in managing and coordinating all aspects of railway systems.
The role sits within our global business area Mobility. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanisation and digitisation trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
In this role you will provide engineering, design management and coordination working with multi-disciplinary teams on our portfolio of rail projects in Ireland. You will ensure compliance with project agreement, engineering / quality standards and specifications and be responsible for planning and execution of work in collaboration with internal teams, clients and stakeholders fostering a positive team environment. Additionally, you will provide technical coordination between various teams during execution phases ensuring technical and schedule requirements are met. You will participate and lead in review of comments received on submittals and work with technical disciplines on comments resolution, lead technical discussions during project meetings, and provide necessary due diligence.

Qualifications & Experience:
· Chartered Engineer in Mechanical, Civil or related discipline
· 15+ years of experience in design management and technical coordination
· 15+ years of experience in the rail sector, preferably within Ireland
· Experience working at all phases of project delivery, from concept to construction
· Strong knowledge of design, relevant standards, specifications and local industry practices
· Experience of proactive business development and shaping the business growth strategy.
· Ability to lead a team with collaborative behaviours
· Strong communication and organisational skills
