Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer (PE) in our MEICA team, you'll play a pivotal role in design and execution of a wide array of projects within the water industry. From power and lighting to PV systems, control, and instrumentation, you will ensure that our designs are not only robust and energy-efficient but also compliant with industry standards.
Core role requirements:
Below represents the core responsibilities of this role; this is by no means an exhaustive list:
- Preparation of electrical detailed design drawings - Single Line Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Motor & Instrumentation Schedules, P&IDs, calculations and reports.
- Preparation of scope documents and tender packages.
- Collaborating closely with CAD technicians for draft electrical CAD drawings, markups and reviews, ensuring accuracy and coordination.
- Liaising with the Building Information Modeling (BIM) team to verify constructability and adequate space for equipment installation and maintenance.
- Conducting thorough design reviews to identify any gaps, deviations, or contradictions to requirements.
- Preparation and application of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits and other Health and Safety Documentation.
- Leading and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on schedule.
- Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including junior engineers and support staff.
- Performing site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Attending meetings, Monitoring/controlling project costs including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
- Conducting site visits for inspection of electrical systems and walk-downs to verify compliance with specifications and drawings.
- Collaborating effectively across business units to ensure project success.
- Ensuring maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.
Qualifications and Experience:-
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the design of Electrical systems such as HV/MV/LV distribution and protection, Lighting systems, Small Power, Generators, UPS and Fire Safety and Detection systems.
- Previous record of delivering medium to large Electrical water/wastewater projects.
- Knowledge of basic electrical engineering software like ETAP, DIALux, etc along with AutoCAD, REVIT / BIM.
- Knowledge of International Electrical Standards like IEC, IEEE, BS etc.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures.
- Strong communication skills.
