Full-time , Permanent position in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork
Working pattern Monday-Thursday 7am to 3.30pm and Friday 7am to 2.30pm
Main duties and responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of all facilities.
- Ensure all utilities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are operating efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including fire alarm, lighting, and security systems.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Coordinate with contractors for repairs, maintenance, and construction projects.
- Manage relationships and performance of third-party service providers.
- Maintenance & Repairs:
- Schedule and oversee routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Perform regular inspections to identify maintenance needs or potential hazards.
- Develop and manage budgets for ongoing maintenance and capital improvement projects
- Oversee the management of facilities inventory and assets.
- Implement systems to track and manage facilities requests and concerns
- Ensure the facility meets all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, fire safety, and environmental standards
- Oversee building inspections and audits for compliance with safety standards.
- The role typically requires regular office hours but may involve occasional overtime, weekend work, or emergency callouts.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams and external vendors.
