Based in our R&D facility in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, and reporting to the Product Development Engineering Manager, the Associate Electronics Engineer will partake in a number of projects from concept to post-production. They will be part of a multi-disciplinary project team, working under the co-ordination of a Project Manager. The role
The Electronics Engineer will work in our Spirometry unit, to help drive continuous roadmap delivery. Spirometry is a common office test used to assess how well your lungs work by measuring how much air you inhale, how much you exhale and how quickly you exhale. Spirometry is used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other conditions that affect breathing.
The team
The Spirometry team consists of hardware, mechanical and software engineers and the Electronics Engineer will assist the team in developing and maintaining features for our spirometry devices.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of Electronics Engineer will include: -
· Projects
o Designing and developing some aspects of a device.
o Assisting the project team in distilling requirements into clear, actionable work packages.
o Ensuring project artefacts e.g. documentation are delivered at each release point.
o Assist in the design and development of the new products
o Assist in the maintenance of the existing products
· People
o Operating in the project team in a co-operative, respectful manner.
o Maintaining a positive and motivating outlook.
o Liaison with ex-house consultants and agencies
o Liaison with R&D, Production, Materials, Quality, Sales and Marketing staff
· Process
o Assisting in the planning, scheduling and delivery of engineering outcomes.
o Ensuring that all work and tasks carried out are consistent and compliant with our Quality Management System.
The ideal candidate
The Electronics Engineer will: -
· Have a 3rd level degree, or equivalent, in an Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
· Have a strong team ethic.
· Have a minimum of 2 years relevant electronic engineering experience.
· Demonstrate competence in own area.
· Work with moderate guidance in area of knowledge.
· Have an ability to read, analyse and understand schematic diagrams & component data sheets.
· Have the ability to perform the duties specified effectively and efficiently.
· Have the ability to complete all aspects of a given task timely, and to a high standard.
· Have the ability to communicate effectively with those he/she works with both in and ex-house.
· Have the ability to work with others in a spirit of good will and cooperation.
· Have a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
· The following skills would be advantageous:
o Experience with both analogue and digital systems.
o Experience in debug and test of prototype hardware.
o Ability to solder.
