A vacancy has arisen within the Emergency Department (ED) for the position of Receptionist.
This is a permanent role with a full or part time role option available.
Full Time 37 hours per week or part time 18.5 hours per week)
The Role:
- Meet and greet patients including dealing with enquiries in person and over the telephone.
- Registration of patients presenting to ED & preparation of charts.
- Liaise with Bed Manager re allocation of beds as required
- Organise patient bookings with consultants and/or their secretaries
- Transcribe/File/Organise patient files for clinics.
- Assist with referrals and insurance verifications.
- Co-ordinate Billing, Processing, Monitoring of patient charges and Issue of receipts.
- Interface with referring physicians / other referring agents.
- Monitor and maintain department stock/consumables and supplies.
- Deal with ad-hoc patient requests.
- Daily transactions of handling money.
The Candidate:
- One year experience in a similar role
- Business or accounting trained background - ideally
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work on one's own initiative & in a confidential manner
- Professional and flexible approach to work
