As Facilities Supervisor, you will focus on providing stable, flexible and cost-effective solutions to enhance our facility services, processes and systems that support the production of the highest quality products for our patients. You will be certified craft-trained, have strong people leadership and financial acumen and possess an innovative action-oriented mindset that will guide you in meeting and exceeding your Safety, Quality, Service and Cost key performance indicators.

A Day in The Life Of:
- The position will lead the Facilities department, ensuring well-maintained facility assets and services are operational and adequately serves the needs of manufacturing 24/7.
- The role will be onsite at our Medtronic Athlone facility.
- Ensure the day-to-day safe operation and provision of facilities services, asset maintenance and replacement are implemented and carried out in a safe and timely manner.
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.
- Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
- Plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labour, materials and other related costs.
- Designs and develops organisational policies relevant to the facilities department.
- People leadership via recruitment, on-boarding, coaching, training and career development, succession planning and retention.
- Responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards as they affect the management and provision of facility services.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Manages and supervises contractors, ensuring end to end safety and compliance (inclusive of RAMS packages, purchase orders and contractual documents).
- Drives cost optimisation and reduction programs in the facilities department that contributes to annual programmatic savings.
Key Skills & Experience
- Dynamic team player. Can work effectively and proactively cross-functionally.
- Demonstrates leadership and people management/supervision skills.
- Experienced in the use of facility management systems incl. ERP, BMS, Energy, Contractor management.
- Experience in managing budgets, vendors and service providers and relishes in the art of negotiation.
- Has a high level of proficiency with MS Office and Data analytics.
- Energetic, self-driven with a tenacious drive for results.
- Highly focused and inner-directed to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with plant KPIs.
- An astute problem solver. Is well organised and resourceful and will do what it takes to get the job done.
- Has proven leadership ability, is approachable and collaborates with others with ease.
- Is curious and establishes risks and pitfalls to ensure surprises are minimised.
- Can manage and resolve conflict quickly.
Qualifications
- Craft-trained and certified via apprenticeship ideally in a mechanical or electrical discipline or qualified in a Science/Technology/Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Automation) or related discipline is preferred.
- Requires advanced knowledge of facilities area combining breadth and depth.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience ideally within Operations functions, preferably within the highly regulated Medtech sector.
