Role: Farm Shop Team Leader
Responsible to: Duty Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities: -

- To manage every aspect of the Farm Shop daily.
- To carry out the Ethos of the Company regarding Customer Service.
- To understand and evaluate the systems of work in the Farm Shop.
- To assist the Manager with a plan for the sales strategy for the Farm Shop.
- To lead by example and ensure excellent teamwork.
- To be present on the floor to interact and connect with both visitors and staff alike.
- All aspects of dealing with Staff.
- Initial Training for the Farm Shop.
- Product and Pricing Training.
- Till and Cash Management Training.
- Staff rota verification with Duty Manager.
- Liaise and meet with Managers and other Team Leaders on a weekly basis as a form of Communication for Company issues, up and coming events and Company developments.
- Cash Management, incorporating the following points :-
- Collect float first thing in the morning and hand in float at the end of the day.
- Ensure there is enough change in the float bag in the morning.
- The security of cash management are adhered to at all times.
- Liaise with Manager regarding Cheese Production of Burren Gold Cheese.
- Ensure efficient processing of wholesale and on-line cheese orders are completed.
- Carry out monthly stock takes of Cheese.
- Both Farm Shop and Cheese Factory Health & Safety procedures are being adhered to.
- HACCP.
- Ensure that all hygiene standards are being adhered to.
- Products & Stock
- To assist Manager to source new products to sell and to participate in the development of the Farm Shop.
- To assist Manager to purchase products that work in line with the original Farm Shop theme.
- Liaise with Farm Shop Suppliers.
- Raise Purchase Orders for approval.
- When orders are being delivered, ensure that the invoice and stock received agree and sign off the delivery note, invoice with Team Leader’s signature and date and pass to Accounts for processing.
- Be fully aware of cost price of each product sold in the Farm Shop.
- Enter all the stock into the Stock Control System.
- All products must have a PLU code for scanning at the Till.
- Liaise with Financial Controller Manager for stock mark up.
- Each product must be priced accordingly.
- Sell the products to the customer and achieve sales targets with an overall objective of continuing to increase the monthly profitability of the Farm Shop
- Ensure stock rotation happens constantly and be fully aware of “Best Before Dates” on all products
- To monitor the selling performance of stock items.
- To create and to maintain an attractive display of stock inviting the customer to purchase.
- Carry out a bi-monthly stock take of the Farm Shop.
- Carry out End of Year Stock take and liaise with Financial Controller.
- To specify the stock to be taken to the Farmer’s Market and other promotional events off-site.
- To represent the Company by selling our products at Farmer’s Market or other promotional events off-site.
- Presentation of Farm Shop and surrounding area
- Ensure that the Farm Shop is ready for business and daily priority is given to the appearance of the Shop.
- Outside, both front and back of the Farm Shop is presented neatly and litter free.
- Windows of the Shop are cleaned on a weekly basis.
- The Farm Shop floor is brushed morning and evening.
- Ensure that the toilets are cleaned daily, and that staff have all the cleaning supplies necessary to fulfil the task.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €13.50-€14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
