Position Description:
The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for running one of the Financial Reporting teams, including the overall preparation and review of the annual audited financial statements and interim (semi-annual, quarterly) process, for investment funds and companies, ranging across various domiciles, jurisdictions and financial reporting standards. This individual will also be responsible for the coordination of the overall client/fund audit process, in addition to overseeing and reviewing the completion of Irish and other jurisdiction financial regulatory filings. Other responsibilities include training new employees and ensuring premier client service standards are achieved within specified deadlines and according to best practice operations. In addition, the individual will be responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with clients, auditors as well as internal relationship managers.
What you’ll do:
This role will assume responsibility for the management of one of our financial reporting teams, which manages the financial statement preparation, regulatory filing and compliance function such as periodic regulatory filing in local and international fund jurisdictions. Areas of responsibility will include:
Serve as main operational contact for a range of clients;
Maintain a good working relationship with external clients, auditors as well as with internal business units;
Ensure all established financial reporting procedures and controls are complied with accurately and promptly, and are reviewed at least on an annual basis to maximize efficiency and ensure continued compliance with internal requirements and external regulations;
Ensure the team have the appropriate knowledge and skillset to meet client expectations, where necessary ensure relevant training is provided, ‘on the job’ coaching / mentoring, and relationship cross-training to enable provision of superior client service;
Motivation, performance management and development of employees to provide the highest level of service to all internal and external clients with the ability to manage multiple tasks and clients under established delivery schedules;
Review and approve all work performed by team members;
Ensure maintenance of a central library of all finalised financial statements and supporting workings;
Ensure maintenance of central library of relevant regulations, legislations and developments in accounting standards for the team’s knowledge development;
Ensure accurate and timely application of new regulations, legislations and accounting standards relevant to portfolio of clients, and rolling out the knowledge to the department via training sessions;
Carry out all duties assigned to your role under the Company’s Safety Statement, to ensure Health, Safety and Wellbeing for all employees for whom you have responsibility;
Management of / participation in ad hoc Projects / Tasks as required.
What you bring to the table:
Professional Accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA)
7+ years funds experience within a financial reporting team within funds OR audit of fund clients in an audit firm;
Understanding of and prior exposure to an extensive list of fund structure types and jurisdictions;
Extensive technical experience across multiple accounting frameworks including the ability to effectively interpret and apply complex accounting standards, primarily IFRS, US GAAP, FRS 102 and Luxembourg GAAP;
In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft suite;
