TITLE OF VACANCY
FIT Executive - French Market - FIT Department – Dublin based (hybrid)
We are seeking a FIT executive with a proven track record in a fast paced environment. The individual will be a customer orientated, self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, articulate with total fluency in written and spoken French & English language.
THE ROLE: The successful candidate will be looking after our valuable clients creating and maintaining long-term relationships. Offering best in class business development and customer care service and ensuring our individual travelers are looked after as per our standards. The role will align with the other hubs in the team working closely with other market executives and other areas of the FIT business. Teamwork is as essential in this role as working independently.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
A proactive approach to developing business for Ireland from existing and potential clients. Developing a clear understanding of the client’s needs and deadlines, offering existing and new programmes to fulfil those needs and ensuring that the client has all the necessary material and information to present this information to their clients whether in brochure or online format.
All aspects involved in the Company’s individual travel programme development and the handling of their associated product requirements including booking hotel and other tourism product supplies.
Dealing with overseas Tour Operator partners on bookings and also where appropriate and necessary their clients when on holiday in Ireland.
Development of client itineraries and their associated costing. As many of our clients are looking for unique experiences in the destination, an ability to create and write exciting travel itineraries is a core requisite in the role.
Preparing client documentation packs, distributing them to the agreed pick-up point and ensuring the smooth operation of the FIT booking prior to and during their stay in Ireland.
Responsibility for operating the departments 24 hr after-hours assistance phone number on a rotational basis, shared with other department colleagues.
General office duties including booking confirmations, filing, processing reservations including the preparation of client vouchers and invoices through the Company’s reservations system (Tourplan).
Supervision of any trainees assigned to the area.
Assisting the Abbey Group with its environmental and responsible tourism initiatives.
Any other duties as assigned from time to time by your Manager or Director (and this could be in another Department within the Abbey Group).
Depending on role - Some international travel may be required and will be in compliance with the company’s Business Travel Policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
Fluency in French & English is essential (oral & written)
Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
Excellent customer care and communication skills
The ability to be methodical, orderly and accurate
Must be able to cope with strict work deadlines
Team player able to work in a busy environment
Desirable
Minimum 1 year experience in a similar previous sales/business development or client facing experience in a tourism role a distinct advantage.
Proficiency in an additional European language.
