- Provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback to athletes to help them improve their technique and confidence.
- Adapt coaching methods to accommodate the individual needs of each athlete, including those with different learning styles or abilities.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes a love for the sport.
Safety & Supervision:
- Uphold the highest standards of safety by actively spotting athletes, ensuring proper use of equipment, and enforcing all safety rules.
- Respond to and manage minor injuries according to established protocols.
- Supervise athletes to ensure their safety both on and off the equipment.
Gym Operations & Maintenance:
- Assist with the daily setup and breakdown of equipment for classes.
- Take a proactive role in keeping the gym clean, tidy, and organised. This includes sweeping, hoovering, and ensuring all areas are free of clutter.
- Conduct visual inspections of equipment before and after classes and report any issues or damage to the Head Coach or management.
- Ensure all training aids and props are put away in their designated places after use.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a gymnastics coach, with knowledge of both recreational and competitive training methodologies.
- Strong understanding of gymnastics progressions, proper form, and safety protocols.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or a willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with both children and adults.
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Physically capable of demonstrating skills, spotting athletes, and performing general cleaning tasks.
