Multinational
AIG’s Multinational business is an exciting area within General Insurance that will challenge you every day to explore new opportunities for our clients worldwide. As a trusted advisor, you will tailor multinational insurance solutions for our global clients, empowering them to operate across borders with confidence and consistency. Partner with a dynamic, global team of experts, including underwriters, risk engineers, and analytics and claims professionals, to design, implement and service multinational insurance programs. This includes issuing timely policies, providing regulatory advice, sharing local knowledge, supporting efficient money movement capabilities and deploying large fronted limits. AIG Multinational professionals have the diverse skills and expertise necessary to deliver customized, compliant and seamless solutions that support our clients’ risk management objectives. With in-depth knowledge of local markets, practices and regulations, Multinational provides world-class insurance solutions and helps clients successfully navigate their cross-border risks, wherever in the world their businesses take them.
About the role
The Head of Multinational, Ireland will provide leadership and strategic direction of AIG’s Multinational business across Ireland (in alignment with GI International Regional geographies) and participate in the EMEA MN International Leadership Team, working to optimize alignment, integration, adoption and execution of AIG’s global multinational strategies, business plans, operating model and segmented value proposition(s), in support of profitable growth.
This role reports directly to the Head of Multinational, EMEA.
What you need to know:
- Support the Head of Multinational, EMEA through active participation and contribution to the leadership and direction of AIG EMEA’s multinational business.
- Work with AIG Ireland’s leadership & stakeholders to foster alignment, integration, & execution of agreed Multinational business model(s) and segmented multinational Value Proposition.
- Drive the multinational vision, value proposition and execution of the multinational strategic plan across the full spectrum of general insurance products across Ireland, ensuring expert design and management of global fronting and multinational programs and world class service to our global clients and broker partners.
- Assist in the execution of the profitable growth of the multinational portfolio including pipeline management and development & execution of specific multinational sales, marketing and communications strategies in conjunction with Product heads, Client & Broker Engagement colleagues and country leads.
- Partner with EMEA Fronting team leadership & Head of Global MN Complex Accounts to effectively manage the development, promotion, growth of AIG Ireland’s produced global fronting portfolio, ensuring adherence to our credit, pricing, reinsurance, and legal practices.
- Oversee the integration and optimisation of AIG’s Network (Owned & Partnered) and lead implementation across GI International in alignment with agreed deliverables.
- Lead change in behaviour and practice across the Ireland MN team to manage MN PO & IO business/service on an E2E basis, leveraging all AIG MN/Network capabilities, resources and reports
- Deliver on all KPIs on expense management, customer service, and profitability across the AIG Ireland’s multinational portfolio.
- Lead the adoption & execution of the multinational business model (incl. E2E Processes) and promotion of the segmented multinational Value Proposition(s) both internally across Ireland’s multinational community and with clients and broker partners to deliver a globally consistent client experience and contract certainty.
- Work with claims to ensure multinational claims are handled in a proactive manner ensuring claims stands out as a competitive differential for AIG.
- Create a risk-aware culture of integrity and accountability to ensure full awareness and compliance of AIG policies and procedures, ethical behaviours and practices, and ownership of risks in day-to-day responsibilities.
- Oversee and lead management of the team of multinational staff in/across Ireland
- Foster an environment where employees can grow and maximize their talent including appropriate training, career development, and succession planning. Evaluate staff knowledge, skill gaps, training needs, and career development and deliver plans to address these needs ensuring continuous knowledge improvement and staff advancement.
- Support the development, communication and execution of global Multinational Strategies, initiatives and plans and own agreed deliverables for Ireland Multinational. Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to address critical end-to-end business and operating model challenges related to structure, business process, underwriting, service pricing models, and claims.
- Represent AIG Multinational as a visible and recognized thought and industry leader. Internally, be an expert on fronting and multinational business including program design, structuring, regulation, and the Multinational end-to-end process. Externally, develop relationships with key Ireland MN &/or Fronting clients and broker partners, and participate at insurance related events including panels, leading workshops, speaking engagements, etc. This includes production of thought leadership articles and white papers.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of insurance experience in positions of increasing authority, including significant experience handling large client relationships and at least 3 years managing a workforce of varying levels. Strong and deep multinational knowledge.
- Inspiring leader able to attract, engage, retain, and develop a high performing team to meet current and future business needs with ability to clearly articulate a strategic vision and execute the plan.
- Knowledge of fronting and multinational business across multiple lines of business in multiple markets, including structuring, credit, reinsurance, financial, legal and regulatory aspects.
- Proven successful management of complex, multi-stakeholder team(s) through periods of significant change.
- Excellent influencing and communications skills including effective engagement with senior level managers across multiple levels and areas of the company, and externally with key clients and broker partners.
- Demonstrated change agent able to identify and implement operational and process improvements.
