Glassco Recycling Ltd are Ireland's largest glass recycling company and process more than 130,000 tonnes of glass packaging per annum for recycling.

The Health and Safety Officer is an integral member of the team who will be key in assisting Glassco Management to maintain the Company's safety systems and to maintain our strong Health and Safety record.
You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Support the business needs of the company through innovative and efficient approaches in achieving H&S requirements that enhance the continuing development and growth of the company
- Ensure all employees and contractors comply with the Company's robust safe systems of work, SOP's and risk assessments
- Carry out site safety inspections and site safety audits and action any issues that may arise
- Deliver tool box talks, inductions, and task specific training
- Update and review risk assessments on an ongoing basis and develop new risk assessments where necessary
- Manage accident and incident investigations and compile relevant reports
- Maintain accident/incident/near miss investigating and reporting and ensure any improvements to procedures following on from same are implemented
- Assess emergency plans and procedures, safe systems of work plans and amend and adjust accordingly
- Maintain safety training records and ensure all necessary training is up to date and scheduled in a timely fashion
- Maintain procedures for hazardous works management and ensure proper implementation of same at all times
- Ensure and plan statutory inspections and maintenance of equipment, lifting equipment, forklift trucks and shovels are all up to date
- Ensure through audits and inspections, compliance with legislative requirements relating to safety, health and welfare and compliance with company rules and procedures
- Keep the safety statement up to date and ensure that it is brought to the notice of all management and employees
- Arrange, attend and run management Health and Safety Meetings
- Adequately brief management on changes in safety, health and welfare legislation, ACoP's and best practice as they apply to the Company's operations.
- Other relevant Health and Safety tasks as may be assigned by management.
