Job Title: Health Care Assistant
Responsible to: The Manager, Baile An Aoire.
Purpose of post: To meet the needs of the residents by providing a quality, caring
service as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- To work within the ethos and values of Good Shepherd Cork.
- To work as part of a care team to provide care and support to the residents in terms of their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
- To promote, create a welcoming and caring environment within Baile An Aoire.
- To proactively engage with the residents in terms of meeting their needs and creating an environment built on trust, respect, co-operation and choice.
- To develop and implement agreed care plans for and with each resident, in consultation with the team, the residents and any professionals involved with the resident.
- To complete daily care tasks with the residents, as required, including personal hygiene, household support, activities and other social care needs as required by the residents.
- To liaise with the service’s manager and other professionals, as appropriate.
- To maintain all required records in a safe, secure and confidential manner, adhering to the requirements of GDPR.
- To ensure that any petty cash used in the course of one’s work is properly and fully accounted for.
- To attend and participate in team meetings.
- To maintain confidentiality in relation to all residents within the service.
- To ensure that Good Shepherd Cork policies and procedures are adhered to ensure a quality, holistic service.
- To ensure and maintain all activities and actions are completed in a safe and healthy manner, as set out in the services’ Safety Statement.
- Any other responsibilities that may assigned to you from time to time.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: €15.00-€19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Leycesters Lane, Montenotte, CO. Cork: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Healthcare: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Level 5 in healthcare support (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (preferred)
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (required)
