Job Title: Healthcare Assistant
Location: New Ross Community Care home ('NRCH'), New Ross, Co Wexford Y34 NH39.
Contract: Full-Time Permanent (36 hours per week)
Reporting relationship: Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing and Nursing Staff.
Details:
NRCH is a HIQA registered 35 bedded nursing home (voluntary and not for profit). It provides a 24 hour care facility for older persons (men and women) who need long term or short term care (respite and convalescence), palliative care and non-acute medical care.
Schedule - the candidate will generally be required to work 12-hour shifts and be able to work days, nights and weekends.
Main Responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant are as follows but not limited to:
(1) Assisting the client in their daily activities of living while at the same time promoting their independence.
(2) Providing a high standard of care in compliance with NRCH's policies and procedures.
(3) Delivering personal care and assistance to the client and implementing the requirements of the client's care plan (person centered care).
(4) Promote client comfort , dignity and wellbeing.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who have:
- A minimum of a QQI Level 5 Major Award (or Fetac Level 5) in Care of The Older Person/Healthcare Support/ Pre-nursing.
- At least one year's work experience in care of the older person
- Authorised to work in Ireland/Relevant work permit in place
- Strong Communication Skills - the candidate must be a team player, capable to take instruction and work on his/her own initiative
