Role Overview
As Duty Manager, you will be the point of contact for all operational matters during your shift. You will oversee hotel departments, resolve guest issues promptly, manage staff, and ensure the highest levels of service and efficiency. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent leadership, problem-solving skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day hotel operations during your shift, ensuring all departments operate efficiently.
- Act as the primary contact for guests, handling queries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Support and coordinate with department heads to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure all health, safety, and security procedures are followed.
- Monitor staffing levels and assist in reallocating resources when necessary.
- Conduct floor walks to maintain service standards and presentation across the hotel.
- Prepare duty reports and communicate relevant information to senior management.
- Lead by example, motivating and supporting team members to deliver exceptional service.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a hotel supervisory or duty management role (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A guest-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, systems, and health & safety compliance.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
