We are seeking an experienced IMOS CAD Technician to join our design and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will use IMOS software and other CAD tools to develop accurate technical drawings and 3‑D models for custom furniture and interior fit‑outs. You will translate client specifications into manufacturable designs, collaborate closely with designers, engineers and production staff, and ensure all outputs meet quality, cost and scheduling targets.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify technical designs using IMOS – Produce precise 2‑D/3‑D models, layouts and assembly drawings for furniture, closets or kitchen projects using IMOS software. Generate detailed CAD drawings, cut lists and bills of materials to support manufacturing.
- Develop manufacturing data – Use CAD/CAM tools to convert models into machine‑ready code for CNC equipment; generate costings and manufacturing data from CAD models.
- Collaborate across teams – Work closely with designers, engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and manufacturing capabilities. Liaise with clients to discuss design intent and coordinate installation details.
- Material selection and specification – Assist in choosing appropriate materials, finishes and hardware, ensuring each design aligns with quality, budget and structural requirements.
- Documentation and library management – Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings and bills of materials. Update and manage libraries of modules and design fragments to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Continuous improvement – Stay current with IMOS updates and industry developments. Optimize CAM strategies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce material waste. Contribute to the development of new design processes and products.
Technical skills
- Experienced user of IMOS software; proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD programs
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and CNC programming.
- Strong knowledge of material specification, woodworking techniques and interior fit‑out practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
