About the role
International Tax Compliance Manager - Ireland
We are currently seeking a Qualified Chartered Tax Advisor to lead the delivery of international tax compliance services within our growing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of a broad and varied tax portfolio, while playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our tax function.
This position offers more than just technical responsibilities-it provides the chance to influence the development of tax service offering and support business growth. The Tax Advisor will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, delivering tailored advice across a range of tax matters, liaising directly with Revenue, and assisting colleagues with complex tax queries.
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and motivated to contribute to continuous improvement and expansion of our tax capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Full responsibility for direct & indirect tax compliance matters with respect to subsidiary companies for a number of Irish/ overseas countries. Working with internal finance teams and local professional advisers to ensure compliance with tax filing and payment obligations for each of your countries, provision of audit defence support as required and generally supporting the local in-country and shared services teams with respect to all tax matters
- Maintaining excellent relationships with local and shared services finance teams and external advisers
- Assistance in the preparation and review of Research and Development tax credit claims.
- Dealing with ad-hoc queries from commercial and other teams with respect to VAT, withholding tax, etc.
- Keeping up to date with legislative developments in your countries and ensuring the implications of all legislative changes are addressed appropriately
- Ensuring accurate and timely quarterly US GAAP tax reporting for allocated countries
- Assisting more senior members of the tax teams (senior managers, etc.) with a range of ad-hoc tax projects
- Ensuring compliance with local transfer pricing regulations within the framework of Afiniti's overall business model
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of PQE experience in dedicated tax role
- Currently working with a Big 4 practice or within a PLC/MNC environment
- Qualified Accountant and AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with an excellent academic background;
- A commercially focused problem solver with a strong technical background and extensive experience advising international companies across a range of tax heads.
- Broad international corporate tax and VAT experience will be an advantage;
- An ability to develop effective internal and external networks;
- Able to work well as part of a team and influence cross functional groups to implement of efficient and tax compliant solutions;
- Excellent computer skills, Oracle experience an advantage but not necessary;
- Bachelor's Degree or higher.
