About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated experienced Environmental Scientist or Engineer, ideally with background in environmental modelling and wastewater engineering, to join our team to work on projects in Ireland and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of environmental surveys and modelling studies. The candidate will deliver assessments of the impacts of wastewater infrastructure on receiving waters. The role may will also involve contributing to the delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing summary reports on wastewater infrastructure and environmental data.
  • Preparing preliminary dispersion models and mass balance models of fluvial, lacustrine and marine receiving waters.
  • Preparing Technical Specifications and Contract Documents to procure survey and modelling services
  • Coordinating the delivery of environmental surveys with 3rd party surveyors
  • Coordinating the delivery of water quality models and associated modelling reports with 3rd party modelling experts
  • Developing detailed project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs, including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks and implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water science/engineering, with a focus on water quality assessment, environmental modelling and/or wastewater treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of model scoping, calibration and validation
  • Strong knowledge of environmental surveying (in particular water quality monitoring, hydrometric surveying, hydrodynamic surveying)
  • Proven track record in successfully managing projects of varying complexity.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project milestones.
