They maintain a strong reputation as a leading force in the food production sector. As part of its ongoing growth and drive for operational excellence, they are now seeking a talented and driven Lean Manufacturing Co-Ordinator to join their successful team.
Role Purpose
The Lean Manufacturing Co-Ordinator will play a pivotal role in optimising plant performance, enhancing production efficiencies, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation. Working closely with the Production Manager and wider management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence through data-led decision-making and lean methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimise plant performance by improving production yields, increasing line speeds, and reducing occupational time losses.
- Develop, monitor, and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all departments to support business objectives.
- Provide consistent updates on KPI performance across factory operations.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports to the management team.
- Support and drive cultural change to embed continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with the management team to identify, recommend, and implement improvement activities.
- Liaise with the Production Manager on production scheduling and effective resource allocation.
- Operate and manage the company’s production software system (e.g., iFood).
- Conduct and report on traceability exercises during audits (Customer or Departmental).
- Manage and oversee the rotation of rework materials.
- Monitor rework levels and KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting on product yields.
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly stock takes across the organisation.
Candidate Profile
We want to hear from you if you meet the following requirements.
- 2 years proven experience in a production, manufacturing or operations role – ideally within the food industry, and in a Lean organisation..
- Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- A Lean qualification - (Green Belt), is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse production data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Competent in use of advanced Excel tools.
- Proficient in reporting and KPI tracking.
- Experience using production software systems (experience with iFood is an advantage).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and drive cultural change at all levels of the organisation.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
