Reports to: Leisure Centre Manager
Job Summary:
The Leisure Centre Supervisor at our Leisure Centre plays a pivotal role in assisting the Leisure Centre Manager in overseeing the daily operations. They ensure the provision of exceptional customer service, effective staff management, and maintenance of high operational standards within the swimming pool area.
Key Responsibilities:
Pool Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the swimming pool area, including water quality, temperature control, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, including lifeguard certification requirements.
- Coordinate pool maintenance activities, such as cleaning, filtration system maintenance, and chemical balance monitoring.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Supervise lifeguards, swimming instructors, gym staff, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to protocols.
- Provide training and ongoing development opportunities for staff members.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service to patrons using the swimming pool facilities.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally, striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Implement strategies to enhance the overall aquatic experience for customers, including swimming lessons, water fitness classes, and special events.
Facility Maintenance and Safety:
- Conduct routine inspections of all area to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, and cleanliness concerns.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issues and repairs.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and pool rules to ensure a safe environment for all patrons.
Administrative Support:
- Assist in administrative tasks related to aquatic operations, including record-keeping, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on pool usage, attendance, and revenue generation for management review.
- Collaborate with the Leisure Centre Management team to develop and implement strategies for increasing revenue and enhancing the overall success of the aquatic facilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a leisure centre with a focus on swimming pool operations.
- Lifeguard certification and experience in lifeguarding and water safety supervision.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff members.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff, patrons, and external stakeholders.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with leisure centre management software (e.g., booking systems, membership databases).
