We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team on a modern, high-performance pig farms located in Co. Waterford, Ireland. This is a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all buildings, systems, and equipment on the farm.
You will oversee and carry out preventive and reactive maintenance, manage contractors, ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards, and work closely with the farm management team to support efficient pig production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all maintenance operations across the farm, including buildings, feeders, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults quickly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance work and equipment servicing.
- Manage and coordinate external contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure all work is compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
- Support biosecurity procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization of all maintenance areas.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in an agricultural or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) holding a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate or a Third-level qualification in Engineering.
- Holds a full, clean EU driving licence.
- Understanding of pig farming operations is a plus, but not essential.

Pay: €26.00-€28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week
