We manufacture and install a range of structural and architectural steel products, and we are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our growing team.
Role Overview: We are seeking a degree-qualified individual in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering to lead our production operations. As a Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall manufacturing process, improving production quality, and effectively leading both staff and materials. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and lead approximately 20-30 team members to ensure the successful delivery of manufacturing projects. Additionally, you will assist with overall operations, including staff rota management and addressing site requirements as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage the entire manufacturing process, ensuring efficient and effective production.
- Oversee the Production Programme / Job list and uphold high standards of Quality Assurance.
- Provide leadership and promote LEAN practices, driving productivity through team engagement.
- Assist the design team in preparing manufacturing packages, ensuring familiarity with products before they reach the shop floor or site.
- Adhere to and enforce the highest levels of Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Report on production progress and actively participate in management meetings.
- Develop and manage daily staff rotas, ensuring appropriate resource allocation for manufacturing work.
- Be heavily involved in the planning and scheduling of work to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with overall operations, including rota management and addressing site requirements as they arise.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally within the steel fabrication industry.
- A degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of MRP processes and experience in using them effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
- Competency in using online systems, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- High energy and a proactive approach, with a passion for continuous improvement.

Remuneration: Remuneration for this role will be dependent on experience. We are open to considering applicants with varying levels of experience, and the compensation package will reflect the skills and value brought to the position.
