We are a long-established and patient-centred General Practice based in West Donegal, with a warm, supportive team and a commitment to delivering professional, compassionate healthcare. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our front-of-house team.
This key role is at the heart of the patient experience, providing vital support to patients, GPs, and the wider clinical team. If you are courteous, efficient, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Manage a busy phone line, responding to queries with clarity and empathy
- Schedule, amend, and manage patient appointments efficiently
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Provide administrative support to GPs and other staff
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion
- Support colleagues during periods of leave or absence
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the front desk
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
- Fluent English speaker with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative or secretarial role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Calm, courteous, and professional approach to work
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with medical software (training will be provided)
