Team Overview
The Global Finance team at KKR is responsible for the firm’s accounting, reporting, tax, and financial compliance. We ensure sound financial stewardship, manage risk and internal controls, and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
The Controllership team specifically oversees the financial operations of KKR’s investment funds. Our responsibilities include:
- Timely and accurate fund financial reporting (e.g., capital calls, investor statements, distributions, annual reports)
- Investor protection through strong controls and governance
- Oversight of third-party administrators and corporate service providers
- Compliance with regulatory requirements (CBI, FCA, SEC, etc.)
- Support for investor communications, fundraising, and internal stakeholder
Role Overview: Multi-Strategy Controller
This role focuses on financial oversight and governance across multiple regulated umbrella fund structures managed by KKR in Ireland and the UK. You will work closely with internal teams (Operations, Compliance, Risk, Treasury, Fundraising) and external service providers (administrators, auditors, legal, and tax advisors) to ensure high-quality fund reporting and entity governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Oversight
- Own and oversee the financial reporting process across multi-strategy fund platforms, including:
- ECIF PLC: A QIAIF umbrella with 12+ sub-funds, primarily leveraged credit strategies and UK wealth platform investments.
- KKR Multi-Asset Credit (KMAC) ICAVs: ~$2bn AUM across two ICAVs (AIF & UCITS), investing in high-yield bonds, syndicated loans, and structured credit.
- Platform Ireland ICAV: Strategic umbrella established in 2022 for credit sub-funds (e.g., Asset-Backed Finance, Junior Debt, CLO Equity, and KKR Wealth strategies).
- Coordinate quarterly board packs for fund governance meetings.
- Collaborate with Operations on NAV/GAV production and valuation processes.
- Consolidate fund results for KKR Group financial statements.
- Entity Governance
- Oversee the legal entity framework for multiple fund vehicles across the KKR platform (Credit, Real Estate, Private Equity, and Wealth).
- Ensure timely completion of financial, regulatory, and audit deliverables, including:
- Annex IV Reporting: Quarterly transparency filings (CBI/FCA)
- Custody Rule Audits: US GAAP audits within 90 days post year-end
- AIFMD Audits:
- Luxembourg entities: SFDR, remuneration, depositary reporting
- Irish QIAIFs: Comprehensive AIFMD and local compliance
- UK legacy structures: Partnership reporting (England/Scotland)
- SPV Oversight (Irish S110 DACs)
- Manage governance and compliance for Special Purpose Vehicles holding credit assets:
- Ensure adherence to Irish Revenue rules (Day 1 Test, registration)
- Oversee annual audits and financial statement preparation
- Manage PPN issuance and periodic reporting to EU exchanges
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
- 4+ years’ experience in fund controllership, audit, or financial reporting (preferably in alternatives or credit strategies)
- Knowledge of AIFMD, Irish QIAIF structures, and S110 SPV governance
- Strong understanding of fund structures (ICAVs, PLCs, DACs) and investment strategies (credit, structured products, alternatives)
Key Skills:
- Excellent stakeholder management across global teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex reporting timelines
- Proficiency with third-party administrator oversight and audit coordination
- Familiarity with Irish and Luxembourg fund regulatory environments
