Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Construction Bid Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing new work by preparing high-quality, persuasive bid submissions and pre-qualification documents. This position requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, exceptional written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, project managers, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, write, and edit high-quality, compelling bid and tender submissions in response to client requirements. Develop PQQ and Tender responses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Tailor written content to align with the client’s evaluation criteria, showcasing our capability, experience, and methodology.
Coordinate with subject matter experts to create programmes, technical and logistical documentation.
Contribute to risk assessments, buildability reviews, and value engineering proposals.
Attend site visits and prepare associated reports
Draft full logistics plans, construction methodologies, programme narratives, construction approach documents.
Be responsible for and prepare site specific technical submissions for Public and Private tenders.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continuous development of the bid management function.
Support post-submission activities including clarifications, interviews, and presentations as required.
Ideal Candidate:
Minimum 10 years' experience in the delivery of construction projects, with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-project environments.
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and guide diverse teams toward successful project outcomes.
Expertise in developing and executing tender documentation and project execution plans.
Skilled in conducting design reviews and managing technical aspects efficiently.
Knowledge of tendering and contract administration is essential.
Deadline driven with effective time management skills
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Desirable:
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project / ASTA.
Knowledge of public procurement processes and frameworks.
Familiarity with digital bid management tools and content libraries.
