Job Summary: Project Manager
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Project Manager for our EV Business Unit will be responsible for leading projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. This role carries significant people management responsibilities, driving operational excellence and fostering a high-performance culture across the business. A key aspect of the position is to champion and embed the company’s vision, mission, and values. In the first six months, the focus will be on building strong team and client relationships, visiting installation sites, and positioning the EV Department for future growth and opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation
Ø Communicate with the Client to arrange and complete any Pre-Construction Site Surveys in order to agree the Scope of Works and assess any possible issues such as access constraints, overhead power lines etc.
Ø Create a detailed project plan outlining the schedule, resources, budget, and timeline.
Ø Ensure the project adheres to relevant laws, regulations, environment health, safety and industry standards.
Risk Management
Ø Identify potential risks (schedule, resources, budget and timeline) and put plans in place to mitigate against them.
Ø Monitor and control risks throughout the project life cycle and communicate with the client and management team accordingly.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
Ø Ensure that Health and Safety policies and procedures are to the fore of the work being carried out.
Ø Ensure employees are competent in their position and attend EHS training as identified
Ø Ensure any accidents, injuries or near misses are reported and investigated and root cause identified.
Ø Support employees during their absence from work due to illness or injury and support their return to work.
Ø Handle the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and working in various weather conditions.
Ø Complete Health, safety and quality audit KPI’s in place.
Budget, Resource and Schedule Management
Ø Monitor project costs, ensuring the project stays within the allocated budget and identify cost saving opportunities without sacrificing quality and health and safety.
Ø Approve expenditures and adjust when necessary.
Ø Recognise changes from original scope and communicate to client and project QS.
Ø Continuously monitor and review the pipeline of work and ensure adequate resources are available to meet targets, modify schedules in response to changes or unforeseen delays.
Ø Where applicable, manage the depot ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, and that it is well maintained, clean and good housekeeping practices are in place.
Ø Maintain the dashboard; ensuring project status comments (e.g. next bill month, bill value) are accurate and maintained ensuring jobs are moved to closure and completed.
Ø Attend whiteboard meetings and provide updates as necessary.
People Management
Ø Manage a high performing team through the employee lifecycle (Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Learning and Development, Offboarding) ensuring all goals and objectives are met.
Ø Payroll, ensure employees hours are reviewed and signed off in line with company policy and the Working Time Act.
Documentation and Reporting
Ø Ensure all Project Management systems (e.g. proworks and dashboard) are up to date with various jobs and updates.
Ø Present monthly defined KPI’s to the Senior Leadership Team.
Ø Present at the company communications meetings.
Project Closure
Ø Ensure that all project deliverables are completed, approved, and handed over to the client or relevant parties.
Ø Ensure that the final measure is agreed with the client and communicated through to the QS for the final count.
Ø Focus on continuous improvement, review project outcomes, lessons learned and assess the success of the project.
Ø Officially close the project on all relevant systems ensuring all administrative tasks are completed such as finalising contracts and releasing resources.
Ø Assist with the compilation of the O&M Manual upon Project Completion, including the provision of Electrical Test Certificates, Completed Project Photos and signed Project Client Handover checklist and documentation.

Person Specification
Education requirements:
Level 8 Degree in Electrical / Project Management or Energy/ Mechanical.
PMP, PSCS, and electrical certifications highly desirable.
Level 6 Craft Electrical Certificate desirable
Experience:
5+ years in electrical engineering, project management experience in electrical projects in the construction industry.
