Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office application skills, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
- Experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
- Experience with complex systems, processes, and programs.
- Experience in the technology or software industry.
- ASC 606 experience/ practical application.
- Project Management experience.
This role requires a 3 days/week office presence.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer agreements, including amendments to those agreements, document the proper technical revenue conclusions, and prepare revenue adjustments in accordance with ASC 606 MSFT revenue policies, and customer/field intent.
- Develop and maintain depth and breadth of knowledge over MS products, services and policies.
- Support key systems transformation projects by ensuring solutions for complex accounting issues are included in the design.
- Contribute to process-improvement efforts by collecting and reviewing business partner and team feedback and incorporating industry best practices.
- Assist with internal and external audit queries on revenue recognition, for both US GAAP and Local GAAP.
- Identify and assess financial statement risk to provide input on initiatives to enhance control compliance with US and Local GAAP and SOX.
