Opportunity
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth and increasing revenue through growing existing accounts, identifying and securing new accounts, new categories and new markets. The Sales Manager will report into and work with the senior management team to develop revenue and profitability goals, and optimal pricing. She or he will formally report and review progress and agree new goals on a quarterly basis.
As well as responsibility for sales account management, the role entails working cross-functionally with Marketing, Category and Insights, NPD, Procurement, Finance and Operations. This role is based at Glenisk’s Innovation Centre, Newtown, Killeigh, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the relationship management function, meeting regularly with retailer personnel including buyers, insights personnel and category management personnel.
- Manage the field-sales team, identifying and realising opportunities and addressing issues.
- Work in conjunction with colleagues in the Sales and Marketing team to ensure that budgets and sales targets are met on an ongoing basis.
- Work in collaboration with the Category Manager to deliver a programme of category management to support the business and its customers.
- Manage and deliver trade presentations.
- Develop pricing and promotional strategy by category, by market and by channel.
- Project Manage the Private Label function within the business.
- Work with retailers and colleagues in sales and marketing and finance to develop joint business plans/ LTA agreements in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations, including the Groceries Order and ensure that these agreements are adhered to on both sides.
- Monitor planograms and price promotions for Glenisk and category.
- Ensure that colleagues in Finance, Logistics and Production are kept abreast of relevant sales plans including promotions, new listings, new terms, new customers etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
Retailer Co-Ordination:
- Take end-to-end ownership of retailer coordination projects, including oversight of promotional calendars and critical paths, review of submissions and forms managed by the Sales Administrator, production of reports, and ensuring accurate, timely data uploads to retailer platforms.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ commercial experience in a similar role within the FMCG sector.
- A strong analytical mindset and understanding of and experience in using category data and an overall data driven approach.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- An engaged and enthusiastic attitude to your work.
- Fluency in English language.
- A full, clean driving license.
