Le Cheile Secondary School is seeking a reliable and efficient individual to fill the role of Caretaker and Groundskeeper. The position involves general site maintenance, security, cleaning, and groundskeeping duties to ensure the school environment remains clean, safe, and functional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open and secure school buildings and grounds daily.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on school property.
- Conduct regular cleaning of internal and external areas as required.
- Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Manage waste disposal, including recycling and refuse collection.
- Carry out seasonal groundskeeping tasks (e.g. mowing, leaf clearing, snow/ice removal).
- Assist with deliveries, furniture setup, and movement of school equipment.
- Conduct basic health and safety checks and report issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or groundskeeping roles preferred but not necessary.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work independently and follow schedules.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations.
- Physically able to carry out manual duties.
- Flexible and dependable approach to work.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: €15.00 per hour
