Job Title: Senior Accountant – General Ledger
Reports To: Senior Accounting Manager (based in US)
Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid)
Contract: Permanent/Fulltime
Job Summary:
Arlo’s finance team is expanding, and we’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and fast-growing team in Cork. This is a critical individual contributor position ideal for someone with deep expertise in fixed asset accounting, and a proactive approach to broader GL responsibilities including functional expense accruals and bank reconciliations.
Organizational Relationships:
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, IT, and SEC Reporting teams, and play a hands-on role in supporting financial audits and process improvements. You’ll work cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, IT, and SEC Reporting teams, playing a hands-on role in supporting financial audits and driving process improvements. Strong collaboration skills are essential, including flexibility to work with business teams across time zones, particularly in the US when needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
Global Asset Accounting
- Manage global fixed asset subledger and right-of-use lease database: capitalizations, retirements, transfers, depreciation and amortization.
- Prepare global asset roll forwards and regional reporting for Tax and SEC groups.
- Analyse and report on depreciation and amortization trends.
- Perform monthly reconciliation between subledger and general ledger.
- Conduct technical accounting research and apply appropriate US GAAP treatments:
- ASC 350-40: Internally developed software
- ASC 985-20: Software intended for sale
- ASC 350-50: Website development costs
- ASC 842: Lease Accounting Guide
General Ledger and Expense Management
- Coordinate with business partners to gather and validate inputs for functional expense accruals.
- Prepare and review monthly bank and investment reconciliations for the Americas region.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly commission calculations based on sales activity, commission plans, and company policies.
- Support other GL activities and contribute to accurate and timely close cycles.
Business support Responsibilities
- Proactively partner with business stakeholders to help drive the achievement of organizational objectives.
- Contribute to special projects and support continuous process improvement initiatives across the Finance organization.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support financial audits and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance testing.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Candidates must hold a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 3-5 years of accounting experience in a SaaS, tech or capital-intensive environment
- Experience in US GAAP particularly around fixed assets and software capitalization.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups required).
- Experience with Oracle 12 or Oracle Fusion is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and organized, able to operate independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear, concise written and verbal communication.
