Our Purpose
Medtronic Diabetes is establishing a manufacturing footprint with contract manufacturers in Ireland for CGMs and Pumps. Given the criticality of these partnerships, we are currently building our Product Innovation and Operations team for Ireland. This team is partnering closely with our suppliers to set us up for success in both our current and next generation wearables. In this role you will work closely with your Diabetes Innovation and Operations peers and our contract manufacturers to bring life changing new technologies to market thus improving the lives of people living with Diabetes

A Day in The Life Of:
- Opportunities pursuing ideas that are exciting and innovative. Think critically about healthcare device manufacturability problems and opportunities to advance process technology development faster than others.
- Actively participate in all areas of new product introduction including the following: Process design, Technology development & advancement, Automation, Vendor, Sub Tier supplier management & Project management.
- Research technology solutions and collaborate with team members on Design, Reliability & Manufacturability methodology (DRM), utilise 3-D drawing/printing and Proof of Principle to define and develop our best solutions that will allow us manufacture devices at scale that will positively impact the healthcare of millions.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define, execute and deliver on New Product Development and Introduction requirements.
- Take initiative & lead a team to innovate and develop best in class process technology with emphasis on improving quality, reducing variation and developing state of the art automated and semi-automated systems as required.
- Lead and support the process development, characterisation, and validation activities to support new product introduction in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Identify and carry out practical actions to solve technical problems using your new and existing skills in project management, six sigma tools, process characterisation and technology development.
- Define and critically review the documentation and execution of IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols for New Manufacturing Processes.
- Define and support the Process Characterization activity, Test Method Validations, PFEMA, Control Plans and associated reporting of outcomes and all learnings to project and functional teams
Key Skills & Experience
- Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum 4 years relevant direct engineering experience in process development for automation engineering in a high-volume regulated manufacturing environment.
- Detailed knowledge and demonstrated experience for the application of both Laser Welding and Ultrasonic welding and the development of these processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams and across organizational boundaries and take appropriate actions when problems occur.
- Medical device manufacturing process development experience desirable
- Technical experience in DOE (Design of Experiments), Six Sigma, DFM etc.
Good organizational, presentation and project management skills.
