Bill Enright Ltd is a well-established civil engineering and groundwork contractor working on residential and infrastructure projects across Ireland. We are currently recruiting a Setting Out Engineer to join our growing team, responsible for delivering accurate site engineering and supporting the smooth delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for:
- Pipe laying (foul & storm drainage)
- Water main installation to Irish Water specifications
- Kerbing, paving, and road construction
- House foundations (strip, raft, block and beam)
- General groundworks and ducting
- Use of total station, GPS, and laser levels to provide precise measurements and control points
- Preparing and maintaining site records, as-built drawings, and survey data
- Assisting site management with technical queries, drawings, and design coordination
- Checking levels, alignments, and dimensions against drawings and specifications
- Liaising with site managers, foremen, subcontractors, and clients’ engineers
- Ensuring works are carried out in line with HSA health & safety standards and project quality requirements
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent (essential)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Site / Setting Out Engineer on civil or groundwork projects
- Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, and utilities
- Experience with Irish Water standards (desirable/essential depending on role)
- Proficiency in the use of total station, GPS, and AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Valid Safe Pass & Manual Handling (essential)
- CSCS card / SLG – desirable
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Full, clean driving licence – essential
