We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Care Leader to provide a stable and safe living environment for the young people in our care.
As a Social Care Leader you will take responsibility for the management of staff and young people whilst on shift.
This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, overnight, and shift work.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure a high standard of care is provided to the young people in our care.
· Develop placement plans for each young person
· Ensure the provision of a therapeutic approach to meeting the needs of the young people.
· To provide a positive life experience for the young people in all aspects of their care and welfare.
· To assist the Social Care Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Management Team in providing high standards of care, quality of service and outcomes for young people.
· Promote the rights of each young person and be attentive to their primary care needs.
· Adhere to and follow relevant legislation, Childcare Act 1991, Children’s Act 2001, Health and Safety Act 2005.
· To contribute to the provision of each young person’s care plan.
· To ensure that all relevant records are updated regularly.
· To ensure that the young people’s files are updated regularly.
· To provide written reports for reviews and case conferences, to participate in such reviews and case conferences and to implement agreed plans.
· To ensure the rights and responsibilities of children and young people are respected.
· To ensure that the children/young people are not subjected to any forms of abuse and in particular to ensure they are not subjected to bullying or the threat of bullying.
· To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming and caring environment and to a high standard of child care practice throughout the centre.
· To provide a positive life experience for the young people in all aspects of their care and welfare.
· To assist the Manager and Senior Staff in providing high standards of care, quality of service and outcomes for young people.
· To advise the Manager of any developments, as they arise, in particular any accidents/incidents of concern.
· Governance and oversight to ensure centre is fully compliant.
· Provide supervision to staff as directed.
· Provide on call for the centre as required.
Requirements
· Recognised qualification in Social Care or equivalent.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mainstream residential service for young people.
· Be eligible to register with CORU
· Training in child protection, trauma-informed care, or therapeutic interventions.
· Experience using care planning and risk assessment tools.
· Full clean Irish driving licence

Pay: €18.30-€19.00 per hour
