Job Title: Residential Social Worker
Location: Dublin City
Salary: €35,000 – €43,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, 48 Hours per week
Shift Pattern: Day and Night Shifts (24/7 Service)
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Social Worker to join our team in Dublin City. You will play a vital role in supporting young people in care, providing a safe and nurturing environment, and helping them build positive futures.
As part of a residential team, you will work directly with young people who may have experienced trauma, family breakdown, or social challenges. This role requires resilience, empathy, and the ability to work flexibly in a 24/7 service, including both day and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, support, and supervision for young people living in the residential service.
- Develop positive and trusting relationships that promote emotional well-being and personal development.
- Implement individual care plans in line with professional guidelines and statutory requirements.
- Support young people with life skills, education, health, and social integration.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining clear communication and accurate records.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours and crisis situations, ensuring the safety of all residents.
- Promote equality, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care delivery.
Requirements
- A recognised Social Care or Social Work qualification (minimum Level 7 degree or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with children/young people in a residential or care setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts in a 24/7 environment.
- Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
