We are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Nurse to join our team at Talbot Lodge. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and fully qualified nurse looking to take on a more senior role in a supportive, professional, and dynamic environment.
Role Overview:
As a Staff Nurse at Talbot Lodge, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional nursing care to our residents while leading and inspiring a dedicated team of nurses and care staff. You will oversee clinical care delivery, ensuring that we provide the highest standards of care in line with regulatory and best practice standards.
You will have the opportunity to take a leadership role, using your experience and expertise to guide and mentor junior nursing staff, ensuring clinical excellence across the board. You will be expected to deliver hands-on nursing care, administer medications, and lead clinical assessments, as well as take responsibility for shift management and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring all clinical needs are met and monitored.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
- Support and mentor junior nurses and care assistants, providing training and guidance to ensure that clinical standards are consistently met.
- Ensure safe and accurate administration of medication, adhering to strict protocols and documentation requirements.
- Maintain open lines of communication with residents’ families, addressing concerns and ensuring they feel involved and informed about their loved one’s care.
- Assist with supervising shifts, ensuring that all staff are effectively deployed and that the unit runs smoothly and efficiently at all times.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to policies and guidelines, ensuring that infection control protocols are followed, and responding swiftly to any emergencies.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMBI pin.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in an Irish nursing environment, with significant experience in elderly care or working in a nursing home.
- Sound knowledge of nursing practices, with a particular focus on elderly care, medication management, and person-centred care.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality, empathetic care to the elderly.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with residents, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team effectively.
