Quinn Downes Group are a leading National provider of Mechanical Service Installations to high-profile clients across Ireland. We have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Manager to join our expanding team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and organised stores, ensuring that inventory is properly stored and accounted for, managing the plant & tools register and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to meet storage and distribution needs.
Below is an outline of the main responsibilities and candidate requirements.
- Overseeing the receipt, safe storage and distribution of goods, always ensuring accuracy.
- Monitoring inventory levels and performing regular stock checks to maintain accurate records.
- Identifying materials that have a low turnover and put plans in place to reduce or eliminate the stockholding with consideration taken to any specialised equipment that may have a long lead times.
- Implementing and enforcing tight inventory management procedures, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Stores.
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance cost effectiveness.
- Managing the Quarantine area, ensuring all materials are accounted for and any inaccuracies, (wrong parts etc.) are sent back to the supplier.
- Regular monthly site visits to ensure that all sites are complying with the requirements for only holding stock on site, for the stage that the project finds itself.
- Managing the Tools and Equipment Asset Registers.
- Ensuring that all calibrated equipment is calibrated on an annual basis and an up-to-date record of the calibration certificates is always kept.
- Ensuring that the process for requesting equipment for sites is always followed, and that all equipment is signed in and signed out and the locations recorded.
- Arrange for emergency delivery of items, when required.
Desired Criteria
- Previous experience managing a Stores.
- Knowledge of the mechanical industry / fittings & plant used would be advantageous.
- Full, clean drivers licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail & highly organised.
